Back in the 70\u2019s as a young man, I entered into the field of Stationary Engineering. This has proven to be a beneficial venture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After serving my apprenticeship I became a first grade engineer, then took a chief engineers position at the old Houston Natural Gas building. Then in 1979, I started my own business as a HVAC contractor. Later, in 1983, I was asked to teach at the BOMI school which I was happy to do and have been an instructor ever since.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stationary Engineering is a field that will always have a useful application as long as there are buildings with mechanical equipment. It is a fact that things wear out and break over time. There has to be someone who can diagnose and repair those things when they do. I doubt AI and robotic machines will ever be able to replace a hands on person to perform that type of work. Therefore this field is a very stable field to make carrier in. The SEAS school is perhaps the best place I know of to assist in that development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have never regretted becoming a Stationary Engineer and look forward to helping my students achieve their goals as well in this dynamic field.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
